AUBURN PROCLAIMED "ENDURANCE CAPITAL OF THE WORLD"

On April 14, 2003, after a presentation of solid evidence that the city was well deserving of the title the Auburn City Council voted unanimously to approve a proclamation that declared Auburn "The Endurance Capital of the World."

Home of the WESTERN STATES 100-MILES-ONE-DAY TRAIL RIDE: The Tevis Cup, the WESTERN STATES 100 RUN, THE AUBURN INTERNATIONAL TRIATHLON, and THE AUBURN CENTURY. These are just a few of the many events that take place in this not so sleepy town in the foothills of the Sierra Nevadas.

In 2005 Rip Cronk was commissioned by the Auburn Arts Commission to complete the first of several murals depicting the areas endurance heritage. Above the Dawson Tanks on Nevada Street are a must see.
